Can you believe it’s November already? At the beginning of October our calendar was quite empty but somehow we filled it quickly which made the month fly by and now here we are….November.
This months health challenge should not be too difficult for anyone. Since the holidays are coming upon us quickly I thought I would keep this one simple.
Novembers Health Challenge: Prepare one new HEALTHY dish for Thanksgiving.
I have been researching a few myself and have not decided which one I will prepare for my family quite yet. Thanksgiving for us is typically just us three so it should be pretty easy to decide when we get a bit closer to the date.
If you find any great looking recipes or try something that goes over wonderful and you want to share it….feel free. I love hearing about great recipes.
It’s that time again….another new month is upon us which means it’s time for another monthly challenge. How many of you struggled with last month? Was cutting back or giving up soda difficult, rewarding or both? Well, no worries, this months challenge should be a little easier for everyone.
The challenge for August is : Have a salad for 1 meal a day.
This should take very little effort to achieve. Farmer’s markets are bursting with wonderful, fresh veggies. There are road side stands selling veggies everywhere and if need be, your local grocery store has veggies year round. If you spend a little time preparing, chopping, washing, and cooking one day a week, throwing together a salad for a meal should only take you minutes.
If you have more time and are creative you could even try making your own dressings to top your salads. And please, if you do this don’t be afraid to share your recipes with the rest of us:)
June is finally here and I am ready to celebrate summer and everything that comes with it. It’s also time for another monthly health challenge. With so much extra activity in the summer months I thought it would be a wonderful time to challenge everyone to this month’s goal.
June Health Challenge: Eat breakfast every single morning….big or small….just eat something.
For many individuals breakfast is the meal many of us skip. We can think up any excuse possible not to eat breakfast and it’s probably one of the easiest meals to prepare. At the same time, it’s also the meal that is most important to eat.
So let’s all make an effort to prepare, grab, or even drink at least something for breakfast. And just in case your all wondering, COFFEE is NOT breakfast! However, pair it with something like no bake granola balls and you can then consider it breakfast.
Happy April Fool’s Day:-)
Did you all survive last months health challenge? Have you figured out what to spend all that extra money on that you saved from making and taking your lunch? Congrats to all that made it and have fun shopping.
Now, onto another challenge for another month. This one is sort of a cop out if you ask me. Although, I know many, many people who personally need some serious help reaching this goal.
April’s Health Challenge Is : To drink 32oz. of water per day.
See what I mean. I personally can’t even image drinking this little amount of water per day. On the other hand, to many people this is a huge amount which they rarely never meet on a daily basis.
Professionals suggest drinking at least 2x’s this amount so I figure just reaching half this amount for many of you will be an improvement.
Get yourself a 32 oz. water bottle, fill it, and make a deal with yourself. Nothing to drink other than water until it’s all gone. After that, you can drink whatever you wish for the remainder of the day. If you are feeling really ambitious, fill it again and drink the total recommended amount.
