What I Am Loving Lately

I find myself starting to enjoy each day a little more as the weather starts to heat up little by little here in Green Bay. From finally seeing leaves on trees to gorgeous colors starting to be planted in planters around homes and businesses. There is something about color that just adds happiness to life. With that being said, here are a few things I am loving lately.

Dinners outside again: My husband and I will often share dinner together outside on the porch in the warm months of the year. We have begun doing this again on the days that are nice and I am so grateful for this time.

Coffee Nut M&M’s: OMG….they are my favorite all time M&M.

Our Bugaboo Camp Cooking Pot set: I could not believe this when I found it at a garage sale one morning walking the neighborhood with my kiddos. I almost had a stroke when I saw the $3 price tag (normally $70 brand new retail) and opened it up to find it new, not scratched, and never used for that matter. It will no doubt be the best thing I find at a garage sale this season.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Lotion: As I mentioned in the past, my hair and skin have drastically changed since surgery back in January. And since I found my new favorite hair moisturizer, I was on a mission to find a lotion that would offer my skin some relief. I gave this coconut oil lotion a try after talking with a friend and have been very happy with the results so far. It not in any way greasy which is a BIG thing for me. It smells wonderful….like the tropics and really seems to moisturize well.

Luna Chocolate Dipped Coconut Bar: After a long walk one day I stopped at a local drug store for a quick errand and noticed these by the checkout. I grabbed one since I was hungry and this sounded yummy. I don’t typically do bar type snacks unless on a trail or paddling a river but this just sounded perfect. After opening it and giving it a try, I think I may have a new favorite bar because it was soooo good.

Sriracha Aioli: With grilling season upon us I am always experimenting with ways to liven up burgers, chicken and other meats. I picked this up in Door County, WI on a day trip with some friends and cannot wait to return for another bottle. We have tried it on chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, and its fabulous in black bean burger wraps. It really adds a kick of flavor and spice.

This inspirational saying:  I recently saw this while shopping and thought of how much our life has changed in the last few months. It’s exactly how I feel and I am working very hard to feel like I am living right side up again. All in good time….right

That shall do it for now.

If you want to share something you are enjoying lately, feel free and do so.

Since tomorrow is going to be one of those crazy busy days I will end by wishing everyone a safe and very happy Memorial Day weekend………….

Supplies To Have On Hand For Stress Free Fun In The Outdoors

Every year I stock up about this time on the supplies we use most during the next few months. This makes it so much easier to pick up and go rather than make time to run to the store every time we get the urge for fun. I keep a big rubbermaid type box and gradually it becomes full as I see things we use often during our kayaking, camping, and hiking trips.

You may be thinking…..it’s only March and they live in Wisconsin how can they go kayaking? Well, we have been on the river as early as March dodging ice chunks. Are we crazy? Absolutely! Is it fun? Honestly, it feels great to paddle again after so many months, but it is not fun, it’s COLD!

Anyhow, here are a few of our favorite snacks that can survive the roughest kayaking trip, last minute camping trip, or the hottest trail hike.

Clif Bars

Luna Bars

Almonds/Nuts

Candy

Vitalyte Electrolyte Replacement Powder

Granola bars

Jerky

Fruit pouches

Dried fruit

Mountain House Meals

I am still missing a few favorites but you at least get the idea. With a few bottles of water, dry bag/backpack, and the right foot wear for the activity, we can literally be out the door and on our way to adventure in under 30 minutes. Now that is what I call stress free fun!

What I’m Loving Lately

Here is another version of what I am loving lately.

Gas Prices: Did you EVER believe you would see gas under $2 a gallon again? Not me….but it is I could not be happier.

Blueberry Bliss Luna Bars: Yummmmmm. Luna bars have become my go to bar when I need a quick snack. I love both the lemon zest and now the blueberry bliss flavors. Give them a try, I think you will be happily surprised:)

Spring: Officially arrives in 64 days.

Laughing Cow Cheese Wedges: I found a new snack that is tasty, easy and healthy. I unwrap a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese , top it with salsa and enjoy with pretzels. These wedges are perfect because they are individually wrapped, easy to grab and go and don’t need refrigeration until after you open it. Plus they have an assortment of different flavors to choose from.

Health food and workout clothing is all on sale: One nice thing about the new year is these two items go on sale for all the new year resolution people. However, those of us that are already health freaks also get to reap the benefits:)

Spark Recipes app: Lately, I feel as if I have been in a recipe fog. I am tired of everything we normally like to eat and can’t seem to come up with any new ideas. That is until I came across the app Spark Recipes. This has been a great tool for sparking my love of being in the kitchen again.

Cinnamon in my morning coffee: Recently, I have had this craving for cinnamon so I decided one morning to add a sprinkle to my morning coffee and was very pleasantly surprised.

Anything you want to share that you have been loving lately?
