Real Quick Pop In Post

This past week was a whirlwind. Once again my hubby was traveling, I was solo, every night had something in it I needed to tend to, and now I am really looking forward to some down time.

Food prep was basic since it was just me. Some cinnamon apples, veggies and homemade dip, and an quick cucumber salad to pair with any meal.

I also blended some carrot puree for my little people to eat for meal time. I had it all cleaned up and then realized I dated the containers wrong….life goes on. No big deal!

And the event that made the week was when I went with a friend to attend a food truck rally. Interesting how many food truck are coming about in this area.

Truck of choice this evening was the King Of Philly’s. Our orders came quickly and both tasted wonderful.

Next week I plan to share our weekend fun, two disc golf courses we recently visited and what I thought of each, and then it’s July 4th. Time to celebrate.

Girls Weekend At My First Bed And Breakfast

I had such a relaxing weekend. There is something to be said about no television, no phone, no internet, no laundry, no dishes, no meals to prepare, and no kids!!!! We all need it sometimes and for the first time ever I kissed my husband good bye for an overnight adventure with a good friend.

We spent our Weekend in Door County, WI, not too far from home but far enough to still be wonderful. We shopped at the many, many shops…everything from clothing to candy.

We drank numerous lattes at various coffee shops along the way.

Ate some fabulous meals at some of Door Counties numerous restaurants.

Was not surprised to still find winter in full force since Door County is known to always be at least 10 degrees colder than where I live.

We experienced a gorgeous sunset on our way to our bed and breakfast after a full day of shopping.

And had our first experience ever with a bed and breakfast that really was the perfect place to relax.

The best part was breakfast was prepared for us, brought to our door, and served with a smile…..no whisks to clean, no dishes to wash, and no crumbs for us to pick up. Simply wonderful!!!!

I arrived home 28 hours later feeling refreshed and ready to face another year until next time.

A Day To Slow Down And Smell The Roses

Recently, I was asked by two friends if I could take a day off to spend in Door County, WI. The answer was YES…..I would love to take a day off. Which is exactly what I did Friday and joined them on a day of adventure.

I woke up early Friday morning and got in a great morning workout at the gym before picking them up and heading north. Our first stop was for coffee and soon after that we arrived ready to walk, shop and smell the roses.

Door County, WI is always a beautiful place to visit. With it being so close to us, its an easy, fun, one day trip that offers everything from shopping, water activities, wine tasting, specialty food tasting, hiking, state parks and some fabulous restaurants.

We visited one of these great restaurants while there and had a fantastic pizza, bean wrap, and wine.

The area is just now coming alive with color and activity for the season. So it was nice to beat the crowds and take in all Door County has to offer without the hustle and bustle of a million people.

It was great to escape daily life and just have some fun with two great friends.
